A major metal producer was able to shave 28 days off of a planned 57-day outage, saving $1 million a day in downtime due to Guardian’s expertise in performing a constructability review and project schedule analysis. Pre-planning and conducting the review was a 10-month process that included relocating some utilities during maintenance outages.

Guardian In Action: On-Site Construction Management

Guardian assisted a major auto producer with the construction of a production plant expansion for an auto making facility. Plans called for adding two boilers, two compressors, capable of providing compressed air for the entire plant, and an air dryer for instrument air. The project schedule anticipated an 18-month duration. Construction management duties included purchasing and expediting owner-furnished equipment, bid solicitation and evaluation for installation contracts, progress monitoring and schedule updates, progress payment authorization, punch list, system checkout and document closeout. The auto plant commenced operations four months ahead of schedule and system reliability exceeded expectations.
